How It Works
A solar water heating system typically consists of:
- Solar Collectors – Absorb sunlight and convert it into heat The most common types are: Flat Plate Collectors (FPC): A metal plate absorbs heat and transfers it to the water .Evacuated Tube Collectors (ETC): A set of glass tubes with a vacuum layer for better insulation and efficiency.
- Storage Tank – Holds the heated water for later use. It is usually well-insulated to minimize heat loss.
- Circulation System – Moves water between the collector and the storage tank. There are two types: Active System: Uses pumps to circulate water. Passive System: Relies on natural convection without pumps.
